Tourism in the theatre - Turkey at the ITB

Cultural performances at the amphitheatre, conversations with the customer in front of the scenery of a marina and coffee breaks in a comfortable, inviting holiday atmosphere. True to the motto “Turkey – a good feeling” the ministry for culture and tourism presented the most beautiful holiday regions on the world’s leading Travel Trade Show in Berlin. On 2.500 square meters the visitors were charmed by the ambience of an oriental world. Accompanied by a folkloristic supporting program, over 60 regional tour operators informed about tourist attractions from the Mediterranean Sea to the Aegean coast and Anatolia as well as the region of Marmaris and the Black Sea. But before the large stand could whet the appetite for the land at the Bosphorus, a lot had to be designed, planned and built.

The challenge to implement seven holiday regions with different offers within the overall concept from the ministry was taken up by the Werbehaus Dresden, which merged with the Holzwerkstätten Vosgerau under the new name Vavona GmbH. Pressed for time the team from the architects Filiz and Uwe Vosgerau created with long-time experience and a lot of creativity a professional product, which was really impressive.
In front of the bended amphitheatre from Aspendos, regional room’s arised, whose comfortable lounges invited to conversations. Large banner decorated the several areas to emphasise the special atmosphere of each respective region, on which famous regional sights and tourist highlights were shown next to the logo and the motto.
But the best-preserved amphitheatre of the world was not only the perfect background for tourist conversations but also turned out to be a visitor magnet. Like the original, every year with thousands of visitors setting for operas and ballet performances or also current TV productions like “Wetten Dass??”, the exciting scenery composed the perfect frame for musical and dancing performances of the Turkish culture.

The complete work, which presented itself as a conclusive unit, appeared kindly clear and nice. Circular arcs and ellipses in turns with straight banners in different radius and forms and created several attractive and opened parcels. The elaborated design was realised with the anodised keder rail EPS.EASY from EPS Profiled Solutions. With just a few handholds the 250 running meters of straight and 180 running meters of bended profiles could be tensioned and placed fast and save, so that the short time became no problem.
Also the Turkish culture secretary Attila Koç was impressed by the stylish and inviting implementation of the fair concept. The motto “Turkey – a good feeling” was not only realised contentual but also optical to the satisfaction of everybody.
