Excellent work
EPS added value café from Ueberholz
Transparency and competence are essential for Vanessa Kolke in her every days work. For one year the media studies graduate is responsible for the complete marketing at EPS – also at the Viscom in Frankfurt . Here, the systems manufacturer from Siegen presented its tensioning technology for the first time in a modular “added value café” designed by Ueberholz Design. The presentation area flooded with light turned out to be a crowd magnet. EPS managing director Hans Jörg Rudolph said: “Viscom in Frankfurt was very successful for us. We were able to credit significantly more customer contacts than ever before and we are very satisfied with the conversations and the contacts.” Vanessa Kolke, who answered competently to the questions of the potential customers, also looks back with satisfaction. These were on the one hand the presented products, but also on the other hand the particularly successful open design of the stand. “It was simply great fun giving people an understanding of our profile systems and the many possible combinations of forms and functions. We have very exciting products, but one which needs a lot of explaining.” That is precisely the main appeal which make the different to her every day's work, Vanessa Kolke pointed out in her engaged way. No question, Vanessa Kolke is used to look into questioning faces, and she has the apposite answer or knows which of her colleagues can help – because teamwork is high on EPS' list of priorities, she have experience from the very beginning.
“Also during the development of the stand design, we have searched together with the office Ueberholz for the right solution. In the end, we needed not only a presentation space, but also the right place for the barista bar and space for coffee and communication.” This was realised by a special trick from the trade fair architects from Wuppertal . The products became a part of the architecture. A six meters high tensioning wall formed the perfect background, completed by a tensioned light-band over the whole width. All made from EPS profiles, which were mostly placed at eye level of the visitors in form of transparency frames made from the new EPS-LUMI-ADD profiles.
“New developments means added value - and that we should not keep away from our customers”, Vanessa Kolke explains. As flexible as the profile technology are her communication channels, whether trade fairs, brochures or modern media. It suits fine, that beside her studies, she can resort to a solid vocational training as a design technology assistant. This becomes apparent in the work-intensive period before the trade fair. However, Vanessa Kolke is already looking forward to the next Viscom in October 2009 – for this time, not only she will be able to answer all the questions, but also will meet many “old” acquaintances at the competence café, after an eventful year.
