The perfect wave for "Waveboards"
EPS.EASY at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg
"We already knew about EPS from earlier projects. The company has a very good reputation in the sector, and especially where technically demanding advertising facilities are concerned this is the right place to go," explained Alexander Ortlepp, Managing Director of the booth builder agency Promostage in Aachen. The businessman turned to EPS with trust this time as well. A total of five waves had to be realised, which were to float above an exhibition stand at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg.
According to Ortlepp, the difficulty lay in bending the waves around with the same radius to both the left and the right. "The banners had to have both a stable shape and also the shape could not buckle under its own weight," remembers the booth builder. He continued that EPS had found the right profile immediately and perfectly implemented the requirements set. Thus three waves with a total of 19 metres and two waves with 7 metres each were produced using the EPS.EASY system. Subsequently the objects were covered with punch tulle without any folds at all. They decided on punch tulle because the fabric had a high proportion of white and also because it was very translucent. "Finally, we placed a total of 40 HQI spotlights with 400 watts each above the waves. This created a very pleasant, soft light but you couldn't see the light source because it was hanging above the waves," explained Orlepp. The curved, wave-shaped optics were an absolute must for Promostage's client, Universal Trends GmbH from Aachen. As a licensee for Razor sports equipment, which includes waveboards, surfing fun and the associated enjoyment of movement had to be suggested by the wave-shaped ceiling elements. And the best thing about it: Alexander Ortlepp can also use the ceiling elements again for other clients - i.e. at other exhibitions. "And that's exactly what I intend to do," smiled the likeable Aachener. That saves time and money. An unbeatable advantage provided by EPS.EASY.
