The exhibition presence of the American company Carestream Health, a producer of IT solutions for the health sector, had to become more modern, younger and fresher.
Based in Rochester, New York, the company is among the market leaders in clinical data systems, X-ray imaging systems and special applications for mammography. Of course, a no show at the ECR (European Congress of Radiology), the leading radiology exhibition in Vienna was out of the question.

The company's 17 x 17 m exhibition stand received a completely new look for this event. "Together with headquarters in the USA we tried to create a very light, airy feeling. Because the basic form of the stand and also many other components were square in shape we needed extra elements to break up the overall concept," according to Andreas Kießl, Managing Director of Messebau Franke GmbH in Bad Tölz. Finally it was decided to mount a 17 m and a 12 m banner as an additional suspended ceiling. The big challenge: according to the design guidelines from the USA, the banners had to curve not only horizontally but also vertically. "We asked countless welting profile manufacturers and all of them said to us that it was not possible to warp a welting profile in two axes," continued Mr Kießl. Only EPS luckily had a solution for the problem: EPS.CRYSTAL instead of keder rails. However the project was a challenge for the professionals of EPS. So they tested the practicability of the unusual customer request in their own workshop in advance.
Who was more than satisfied with the result: "As a result, the banners were stretched without any folds at all. Both the technical and optical implementation of the whole was solved perfectly," summed up Andreas Kießl happily. Both banners were finally attached with aluminium pillars in the shape of cut and riveted box sections. Additional safety mountings were attached to the ceiling. The Carestream exhibition stand is off on its travels again soon, because two further exhibitions for medical technology in Hamburg and Manchester are on the programme.
